Studying in the University of Queensland is one exciting and enjoyable experience. UQ offers a balance of quality education and great variety of extra curricular activities. The helpful lecturers and friendly classmates makes studying abroad at UQ even better than ever. To excel as a student in UQ one has to be eager to learn and ready to get involved in all sorts of activities, sociable and prepare to take challenges.

The selection process was very easy as I previously went to Inti College which is allfliated with UQ. I would say that the university was quite strict in the selection process to maintain their high standards. Obtaining a visa was smooth and easy as i received a lot of help from the student advisor from my college. to make admission process easier, I would suggest students to prepare every documentation required for the admission application properly in advance and always apply early.

There are many scholarships offered to outstanding students. these information can be readily accessible at the UQ's official website. To secure financial assistance, one has to be outstanding especially in the academic field, or sometimes other field relevant to the scholarship. One has to work hard early for that. I think that there's no shortcut to it.

My course is a 4 year engineering course. The best bits are that all the courses are arranged in such a way that it prepares a student to be an all rounder after graduating. i study 5 days a week in UQ as a full time student. Lecturers and tutors are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Most are very friendly too. I have received all the study support I need and I really think its worth the amount paid.

UQ's facilities are outstanding and very sufficient. I find Brisbane a much quieter place compared to where I come from. Getting used to the harsh Brisbane weather was not easy for me as I'm not used to having four seasons in a year. However, i enjoyed the multicultural society a lot. I've made many new friends and learn about things I never knew. My accomodation is located strategically near transportation and restaurants and the rent is cheap too. It is easy to find part time work here and pays well too. Student Union helps students a lot in every aspect. I have joined many clubs in the uni and there are many clubs specifically for international students. I can even find a Malaysian Club too.

Many of the big engineering firms always have career talks and set up booths during the Career Fair at our university as we are highly recognised in this field. They seek for fresh and new graduates rapidly from UQ as well. There is an alumni association for alumnis but i am rather inactive in it, although i still keep in touch with fellow alumni personally. Currently, im working in an engineering firm as a civil engineer.
