Course description:
This research degree includes coursework, practical placements in work settings and a research thesis in an area of clinical psychology. The first year of the program focuses on building skills and developing the research topic. The second year builds on this foundation and includes work experience in a range of clinical psychology settings and research data collection. The remainder of the program includes advanced-level coursework, an extended internship and completion of the research project.
Entry requirements:
Applicants must normally have completed: a three year program in psychology accredited by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) at least at a B average or equivalent across all years; and an APS accredited fourth year program in psychology at an Honours grade of at least upper H2A or equivalent. The English language requirements are as follows: IELTS: 6.5 (minimum band score of 6.0); TOEFL(computer based): 233 (minimum score of 5 in essay writing); TOEFL(paper based): 575 (score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English); TOEFL(internet based): 88 (individual score not less than 22); La Trobe University Language centre: English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at postgraduate level.
