Course description:

This program is designed to provide an appreciation of food and fibre industries in combination with technology and management of animal production, agronomy, horticulture or food science, depending on the Applied Science plan selected. Agribusiness is concerned with delivering food and fibre products to global customers. It includes all operations involved in the manufacture and distribution of farm supplies, production processes on farms, and storage, processing and marketing of farm commodities, and products made from them. In terms of production value and employment opportunities, agribusiness is a major part of the Australian economy. This program combines core studies in business with an understanding of the agricultural business environment and an appreciation of the technologies of the food and fibre industries.

Entry requirements:

Students must have completed Queensland Year 12 or equivalent English. They must also satisfy English language requirements as follows: IELTS Academic: Overall Score of 6.5 and Writing score of 6; TOEFL - Computer based: Total Score of 237, Essay Rating score of 4.5, TOEFL - Paper based: Total Score of 570, TWE (Test of written English) 5; TOEFL - Internet Based (iBT): Overall Score of 90 and Writing score of 21.

Application details:

Students who are currently undertaking year 12 in Australia must apply through Queensland Admission Tertiary Centre. Students who are not currently studying in Australia must send in the completed application form to The Manager, International Admissions Section, The University of Queensland, Level 2, JD Story Building, Brisbane, Queensland, 4072, Australia along with the following documents: certified copies of all transcripts of results, award certificates, grading systems, and translations (if required); proof of English language proficiency and documents for credit assessment. A non-refundable application fee of $100 has to be enclosed along with the application form.
