Course description:

This course deals with the principles of plant identification, actions, indications and prescriptions of hundreds of herbs, and how to manufacture a range of herbal preparations. The course consists of a combination of lectures, clinics, tutorials, practical demonstrationa, and case studies. On completion of this course participants will be set to pursue a career as a botanical medicine practitioner, herbalist, herbal medicine practitioner, phytotherapist or western herbal medicine practitioner. The course requires the successful completion of 21 units of competency. This includes 12 common and nine specialisation units. The nominal duration for each unit of competency includes hours in lectures, tutorials, seminars, demonstrations and supervised clinical practice.

Entry requirements:

Applicants should have completed NSW Higher school Certificate or equivalent; or should be 21 years or over at course commencement. Also an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent is required.

Students should complete the application form and attach it with documents like transcripts of relevant academic records (high school certificate or higher) and any additional documentation to support their application (e.g. resume, references and course credit application form). Authenticated documents must be: original documents (i.e. testamur and transcript of results) provided by the candidate to an authorised Think: Education Group representative, copies of the original documents (i.e. testamur and transcript of results) provided by the candidate which have been either: notarised by a Justice of the Peace or equivalent authority in the country of origin or verified as a true and correct copy of the original documents by an approved Think: Education Group representative. The completed application form must be sent to Admissions Office, Think: Education Group, PO Box 728, North Sydney, NSW, 2059, Australia.
