Course description:
The three year professional program of training covers a wide range of subjects, techniques and practical skills. Biomedical sciences, clinical knowledge, practice management and therapeutic skills are presented in a progressive course structure to provide the graduate with the knowledge and skills to run a successful health care practice utilizing therapeutic modalities including trigger point therapy, corrective exercises, first aid, sports massage, hot and cold therapy and joint mobilization. Myotherapists work in private practice, in physiotherapy clinics, sports medicine centers and work injury centers. It is a rapidly growing health profession. It also work in a similar manner to physiotherapists and osteopaths, specializing in the treatment and rehabilitation of muscle and joint disorders.
Entry requirements:
For admission to Advanced Diploma of Sports Therapy or Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage (Myotherapy) the students will need to complete Year 12 or equivalent including English and one science preferably Biology, Health and Human Development or Physical Education. Students should pass in VCE or equivalent, including a pass in English and at least one of Physical Education, Human Development or Biology. An interview may be required. IELTS Score of 6 or more.
