In December 1986 the Western Australian Institute of Technology was formally renamed Curtin University of Technology. The enrollments exceed 40,000 with over 15,000 international students. The university has 7 Western Australian campuses, a Sydney campus and an offshore campus in Malaysia. The primary campus is at Bentley. The other campuses are the Shenton Park Heath Research campus, the Graduate School of Business, a campus at Northam and Geraldton, Kalgoorlie and Collie. The university has 5 faculty categorisations, namely, Curtin Business School, Science & Engineering, Humanities, Aboriginal Studies and Health Sciences.
